About Dr. Killingsworth
Dr. Matt Killingsworth studies the nature and causes of human happiness. He is a Senior Fellow at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and the director of trackyourhappiness.org, a large-scale research project that uses smartphones to collect real-time happiness data from people around the world. Matt’s research investigates how people’s circumstances, behavior, and other factors contribute to and detract from their happiness, as well as issues related to the measurement and conceptualization of happiness itself. He holds degrees in Engineering and in Economics from Duke University and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Harvard University. His research has been published in journals such as Science, Psychological Science, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and covered widely in the media.
